Cultivating Kindness With Karen

Have you ever thought of play as a form of kindness? We all had times when we could play as kids; running around, playing with dolls or cars or both, using our imaginations and even perhaps playing with imaginary friends.

Today play can take on many new forms and involve far more technology than it did 25-35 years ago.

In this show “The Kindness of Play”, Stress Recover Expert, Karen Leslie will be exploring what play is, the benefits of play and even if adults should still be playing with her guest Cathy Belgrave, founder of Creative Studio for Children. Karen and Cathy will explore play based learning and how important play is to children and their parents.

If you would like to explore the different aspects of play for your children, or for yourself, be sure to join Karen and Cathy in the chatroom in this episode of Cultivating Kindness With Karen.

Cathy is a parent, elementary teacher and ECE certified Wonder-Led Educator. She has been working with children for over 25 years in a variety of settings and is the founder of Creative Studio for Children. She currently offers workshops to preschool teachers, and teaches preschool and elementary play-based programs in Vancouver. When not teaching, Cathy loves to be outside in nature and can be found communing with the trees in the forest or watching the sunset. https://www.creativestudioforchildren.com/

~ More About Cultivating Kindness With Karen

Karen Leslie is an Educator and an Expert Healer who has been facilitating energy with others for over 25 years.  Her life of depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts has led her on an interesting, and at times, turbulent path to where she is today.

Kindness was definitely missing in Karen’s life.  Karen was always kind and compassionate to others, however she was not showing kindness to herself.  Today Karen knows that kindness towards others was actually a way of avoiding her own wounds and sadness.  These choices created a life of ‘people pleasing’, keeping the peace and avoiding conflict; especially if it involved having to say “No” to someone else.

Karen knows now that everything we do to help ourselves from the neck up will help everything from the neck down.  Karen now lives each day with enthusiasm, excitement, an openness to new adventures and a great deal of kindness towards everyone, most especially herself.
