Navigating Complicated Relationships – Mikki Gaffen Stone 

Parental alienation is something this week’s special guest, David Collier, knows more about that anyone should. His story is utterly heart-wrenching and hugely important for all parents and educators to be aware of. The children who are subject to having one parent alienated from them by the other grow up often completely unaware of the manipulations they have been subjected to. They believe what they hear, because they really have little else to work with. And what child even considers that their parent could be lying to them?

Mikki Gaffen Stone, BCBA is interviewing David Collier, best-selling author, international speaker and youth advocate. Most importantly he is a father to two amazing children. He grew up in London, Ontario, Canada expecting to become a police officer. However, a Child Care Worker position at a group home revealed how rewarding one-to-one support with youth can be. After witnessing the positive change made in a teen over twenty-five years ago, Dave decided this was his life’s mission.

From personal experience, Dave passionately speaks on parental alienation, intimate partner violence, PTSD and issues facing today’s youth such as mental health. He believes in speaking the truth and is not afraid to show his vulnerability as he recounts his life lessons from a man’s and father’s perspective.
