A thought provoking talk about my own personal journey uncovering the deeply rooted limiting beliefs that were planted in me as a young child experiencing childhood abuse that when I told the adults in my life what happened I was not believed. This not only took my voice away as a child but it also manifested in me not believing in myself and what I had to say had no value as a teen and young adult leading me down a dark path of addiction. I overcame addiction later on in my adult life and now speak powerfully and openly about what happened to me. I will take the listeners down a potent journey of discovering where their beliefs stem from and how the roots of our beliefs hinder us or move us in the direction of our life’s purpose and path.
Abby is a second generation Latina Canadian whose parents immigrated from El Salvador in 1985, escaping a violent civil war happening at that time. Over the past 7+ years, she has diligently worked to overcome deep and painful trauma stemming from a childhood of violence, abuse and addiction. Through a rigorous journey of personal development, she has achieved a whatever it takes attitude and mindset that has led her to a path of wholistic healing and recovery. Abby celebrates being a wife, mother, entrepreneur, public speaker, international best selling author and influencer. Successfully enjoying a career in nursing for 15+ years and is now pursuing her passion of truly making an impact in her community and beyond by speaking and writing candidly about her ongoing journey through recovery from addiction and mental health struggles. She shares her passion, coaching and mentoring women, mothers and individuals who are ready for change and are willing to do the work to become the best version of themselves, creating a life of not just success, but significance.
